As the season comes to an end we would like to thank everyone for an amazing ice season! We could not have asked for a better season of fishing and ice! With that being said lets talk about open water fishing and the upcoming season! First off we are having our spring kickoff April 6th with some very very good deal on all sorts of rods, reels, and baits as well as many more items.
River fishing… the recent temps have made many anglers bust out the long rods this week and we have been seeing lots and lots of fish being caught. The northern bite has been off the hooks in man different local rivers around the areas as well as the walleye and smallie fishing. Most angler have been using bright plastics with a 3/16 oz jig head or spinner baits. One great spot to try would be the nora springs damn.
Lets talk Clear Lake – the lakes ice is deteriorating day by day and it wont be long before we start to see guys wading off shorelines and the boats hit the water. We are predicting roughly two weeks before that happens but the walleye bite should be off the charts this year! The grade is currently wide open and very fish-able. Some other popular spring spots for wader fishing at the lake are typically at the outlet or in front of the redstone apartments.
We look forward to sharing more reports as the season kicks off. Happy fishing!
